With the summer season coming to an end, many countries are going to be implementing additional road restrictions due to national festivities during the month of August. Many of these truck bans are going to be implemented specifically on Fridays. In light of this, in this article we provide a list of dates during which road restrictions for trucks will be implemented in different European countries throughout the month of August.
August 1st, Tuesday
Road restrictions in Switzerland will apply throughout the entire day due to a national festivity.
August 4th and 11th, Fridays
- Restrictions in the Czech Republic will apply from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
- Restrictions in Greece will apply from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on certain roads.
- Restrictions in Italy will apply from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Poland will apply from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Croatia will apply from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
- Restrictions in Romania will apply from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. (on the road DN39 – Agigea – Mangalia), from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. (on some sections of the A2 road), and from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. (on some sections of the DN7 road).
August 14th, Monday
- Restrictions in Croatia will apply from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- Restrictions in France will apply from 10 p.m. until midnight.
- Restrictions in Luxembourg will apply from 9.30 p.m. until midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. until midnight for those heading towards Germany.
- Restrictions in Poland will apply from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Romania will apply from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7 road and from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on some sections of the A2 and DN39 roads.
August 15th, Tuesday
- Restrictions in Austria will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Croatia will apply from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- Restrictions in France will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Greece will apply from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. and from 6 p.m. until midnight on certain roads.
- Restrictions in Luxembourg will apply from midnight until 9:45 p.m.
- Restrictions in Poland will apply from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Romania will apply from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Slovenia will apply from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Italy will apply from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Liechtenstein will apply throughout the entire day.
August 18th and 25th, Fridays
- Restrictions in the Czech Republic will apply from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
- Restrictions in Greece will apply from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on certain roads.
- Restrictions in Poland will apply from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- Restrictions in Romania will apply from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. (on the road DN39 – Agigea – Mangalia), from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. (on some sections of the A2 road), and from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. (on some sections of the DN7 road).
August 29th, Tuesday
- Road restrictions in Slovakia due to a national holiday will apply from midnight until 10 p.m.
On Saturdays (August 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th)
In August Saturday road bans will be in effect in the following countries:
- In Austria from 3 p.m. until midnight. Restrictions will also apply on A12 and A13 Brenner motorways (from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.) for those driving to or through Italy and those driving to or through Germany.
- In the Czech Republic from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.
- In Greece from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. (on August 12th additional restrictions will apply from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.)
- In Italy from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. (on August 12th the restrictions will apply from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.)
- In France from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- In Hungary from 10 p.m. until midnight (this does not apply to trucks of EURO 3 and higher categories operating in the international transport sector). On August 19th and 26th the restrictions will apply from 3 p.m. until midnight.
- In Germany from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
- In Croatia from 4 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- In Luxembourg from 9.30 p.m. until midnight for those heading towards France and from 11.30 p.m. until midnight for those heading towards Germany.
- In Romania from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Slovakia from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
- In Slovenia from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. and from 6 a.m. until 4 p.m. on some roads.
On Sundays (August 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th)
In August Sunday road bans will be in effect in the following countries:
- In Austria, Germany, and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Greece from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m., and from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on certain roads.
- In Italy from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Croatia from 12 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9:45 p.m.
- In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day.
- In Slovenia and Poland from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Romania from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.
- In Hungary from midnight to 10 p.m. (this ban does not apply to trucks of EURO 3 and higher categories operating in the international transport sector).
- In France from midnight until 10 p.m.
