As April is coming to an end, it's important not to forget about the road bans starting next month. In May, a series of public and religious holidays will lead to a high number of traffic restrictions for trucks being implemented across Europe. This article lists all the countries and dates during which truck bans will apply.
Wednesday, 1 May
Due to the International Labour Day, road restrictions for trucks will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria, France, Slovakia and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Italy from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Croatia from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- In Poland and Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Liechtenstein throughout the entire day.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m.
- In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7, A2 and DN39.
- In Hungary from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Thursday, 2 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Greece from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Romania from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the A2 and DN39 and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7.
- In Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Friday, 3 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Greece from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- In Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7, A2 and DN39.
Monday, 6 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Greece from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7, A2 and DN39.
Tuesday, 7 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Greece from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- In France from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Wednesday, 8 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Luxembourg throughout the entire day for those going towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those travelling towards Germany.
- In France throughout the entire day.
- In Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
Thursday, 9 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m.
- In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day.
Monday, 20 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria, France, Hungary and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m.
Wednesday, 29 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Croatia from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- In Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Thursday, 30 May
Road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria and Germany from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In Croatia from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- In Liechtenstein throughout the entire day.
- In Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m. for those heading towards Germany.
Friday, 31 May
Road bans in Romania will be in place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the A2 and DN39 and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7.
On Saturdays (4, 11, 18 and 25 May)
On Saturdays in May, road bans will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria from 3 p.m. to midnight.
- In France and Hungary from 10 p.m. to midnight.
- In Luxembourg, from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those going towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for journeys to Germany.
On 4 May, additional road bans in Romania will be in place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the A2 and DN39 and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7.
On 18 May, additional road bans will be in force in Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On Sundays (5, 12, 19 and 26 May)
Sunday bans in May will apply in the following countries:
- In Austria, Germany, France and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
- In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Italy from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m. On 19 May, this ban will be in force throughout the entire day and will also apply from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards Germany.
- In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day.
- In Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- In Hungary from midnight to 10 p.m. (this ban does not apply to trucks of EURO 3 and higher categories operating in the international transport sector). On 19 May, this ban will apply throughout the entire day.
On 5 May, additional road bans will also be in force in Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the DN7, A2 and DN39.
On 19 May, additional bans will also apply in Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
