Road bans in Europe in June 2024

With Spring coming to an end, new changes regarding road bans are about to take place in Europe. Public holidays will lead to the introduction of new restrictions in some countries while the beginning of the summer season will alter the usual road ban schedule. In this article we provide all the information you need about road closures in Europe in June.

Thursday, 6 June

Road bans will take place in France from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

Friday, 14 June

Road bans will be in place in Greece from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Friday, 21 June

Road bans will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • In Greece from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some roads.
  • In Croatia from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on some roads.
  • In Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Monday, 24 June

Road bans will be in place in Greece from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and in Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Tuesday, 25 June

Road bans will be in place in Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday, 28 June

Road bans will be in place in Greece from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and in Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

On Saturdays (1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 June)

On Saturdays in June, road bans will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria from 3 p.m. to midnight. On the 1st and 22nd of June, additional road bans will also be in place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • In France and Hungary from 10 p.m. to midnight. 
  • In Luxembourg, from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those travelling towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those travelling towards Germany.

On 1 June, additional road closures will also apply in Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On 15 June, additional road closures will also apply in Croatia from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in Greece from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On 22 June, additional road closures will be in place in Croatia from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., in Greece from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Poland from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in Romania from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

On 29 June, additional road closures will be in place in Croatia from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., in Greece from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Poland from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and in Slovenia on some roads from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Sundays (2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 June)

Sunday road bans in the month of June will apply in the following countries:

  • In Austria, Germany, France and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
  • In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • In Italy from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • In Luxembourg, from midnight to 9.45 p.m. 
  • In Liechtenstein and Switzerland 24 throughout the entire day.
  • In Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • In Hungary, from midnight to 10 p.m. (this does not apply to EURO 3 and higher categories of trucks operating in the international transport sector). 

On 16 June, additional road bans will be in place in Croatia from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on some Greek roads from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

On 23 June, additional road bans will be in place in Croatia from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., on some roads in Greece from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., in Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and in Romania from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On 30 June, additional road bans will be in place in Croatia from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., on some roads in Greece from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. and in Poland from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
