From July 5 to August 30, new traffic restrictions will apply to trucks on the A22 Brenner highway in Italy, in the section from the city of Vipiteno to the Austrian border. Vehicles weighing 7.5 tons or more will not be allowed to use this road on Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The restrictions will only apply to those travelling toward Austria.
The restrictions aim to reduce congestion at the Austrian border during the summer holiday season. In the affected area, drivers of heavy vehicles will be able to use special parking areas where they can stop on Saturdays. This ban does not apply to trucks transporting animals, mail, perishable food, medical supplies, etc.
Drivers must carry documents indicating the loading and unloading locations of their cargo.
