In 2025, due to reconstruction works, the Köhlbrand Bridge in Hamburg will be closed on several occasions. This bridge connects the A1 and A7 highways and is one of the most important and busiest routes in the city. Approximately 12,700 trucks cross the bridge daily. However, due to its poor condition, the Köhlbrand Bridge will be demolished and replaced by a new bridge, which will be 73.5 meters high. The project is expected to be completed by the year 2040.

Due to reconstruction works, the bridge will be closed for several weekends this year, from Friday to Monday. In 2025, the bridge will be closed on the following dates:

  • From May 23, 10:00 PM to May 26, 5:00 AM

  • From June 13, 10:00 PM to June 16, 5:00 AM

  • From July 18, 10:00 PM to July 21, 5:00 AM

  • From August 29, 9:00 PM to September 1, 5:00 AM

  • From September 5, 9:00 PM to September 8, 5:00 AM

  • From October 9, 10:00 PM to October 13, 5:00 AM
