Starting from 2025, the road toll Eurovignettes will be abolished in Denmark and replaced by the new KmToll system. Under this system, the amount of the tax owed will depend on the mileage driven and the CO2 emission class of the vehicle.
The new system will apply to all heavy vehicles weighing over 12t. The system will apply to most national and regional roads (a total of 10,900km of the road network). From the 1st of January 2027, the new system should also apply to vehicles weighing 3.5t or more. It is planned that the new tolls will then also apply to all roads in Denmark.
From the beginning of 2025, the following toll rates will apply to heavy weight vehicles:
Weight of the vehicle | CO2 emission class | Tariff outside of low emission zones (DKK/km) | Tariff inside low emission zones (DKK/km) |
From 12t to 18t | 1 klasė | 1.12 | 1.68 |

There will be several ways to pay for tolls in Denmark. Drivers will be able to use the services provided by electronic toll payment companies (e.g. Telepass, Brobizz or ØresundPAY). Drivers will also be able to purchase a digital KmToll ticket. Drivers will receive a fine of DKK 4,500 (around €600) if they fail to pay their tolls.
