Additional road restrictions in France

This year, the list of road restrictions in France will be expanded with new traffic limitations. New Saturday restrictions will apply to vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tons, excluding heavy agricultural machinery and special vehicles.

During the summer season, the additional Saturday restrictions will apply from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on the following dates:

  • July 5, 12, 19, and 26;

  • August 2, 16, and 23.

It is important to note that on July 5 and August 23, exceptions will apply in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand Est, and Hauts-de-France regions. In these areas, restrictions will only apply on the A6 and A31 highways for those heading towards Lyon and Beaune, and on the A1 and A16 highways for those driving towards Paris.

During the winter season, additional Saturday restrictions will apply from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and from 10:00 PM to midnight. These restrictions will be in effect in the Rhône-Alpes region on the following dates:

  • February 8, 15, and 22;

  • March 1 and 8.

These winter season restrictions will affect the following roads:

  • Bourg-en-Bresse – Chamonix, 

  • Lyon – Chambéry – Tarentaise – Maurienne,

  • Lyon – Grenoble – Briançon,

  • Bellegarde – St Julien-en-Genevois – Annecy – Albertville,

  • Chambéry – Annecy – Scientrier,

  • Grenoble – Chambéry.
