The A12 highway in the Netherlands – one of the country’s most important transport links – will be completely closed twice in 2025. Each closure will last for 9 days, affecting a 30 km stretch (from Veenendaal to Utrecht). These measures are being taken due to intensive roadworks during which the asphalt on the highway will be replaced.
It is anticipated that the closures will lead to significant traffic congestion. Due to the disruption, drivers can expect to spend an additional hour on the road. The A12 highway will be closed twice in the direction from Veenendaal to Utrecht:
From May 9 at 8:00 PM to May 19 at 5:00 AM
From August 22 at 8:00 PM to September 1 at 5:00 AM
