In April this year, public holidays in some European countries will result in additional truck traffic restrictions being implemented in some states. This article lists the dates on which road bans for trucks will apply in Europe. 

April 1st, Monday

On the second day of Easter, road restrictions will apply in the following countries:

• In Austria, France, Germany, Hungary, and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
• In Croatia from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Italy, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Luxembourg, from midnight to 9.45 p.m. for those travelling towards Germany.
• In Poland and Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Switzerland (except for the region of Ticino) and Liechtenstein throughout the entire day.

April 2nd, Tuesday

Road restrictions in Italy will apply from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

April 25th, Thursday

Road restrictions in Italy will be in place from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

April 30th, Tuesday

Road bans will apply in the following countries on this day:

• In Croatia from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. 
• In France from 10 p.m. to midnight.
• In Luxembourg, from 9.30 p.m. to midnight for those travelling towards France and from 11.30 p.m. to midnight for those travelling towards Germany.
• In Poland from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Romania from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some sections of the A2 and DN39 roads and from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on some parts of the DN7 road.
• In Hungary from 10 p.m. to midnight.

On Saturdays (April 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th) 

Saturday bans in the month of February will be in place in the following countries:

• In Austria from 3 p.m. until midnight.
• In France and Hungary from 10 p.m. to midnight.
• In Luxembourg, from 9:30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards France and from 11:30 p.m. to midnight for those heading towards Germany.

On April 27th, due to a national holiday, additional road bans will be implemented in Slovenia. They will apply from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On Sundays (April 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th)

Sunday bans in the month of April will apply in the following countries:

• In Austria, Germany, France and Slovakia from midnight to 10 p.m.
• In the Czech Republic from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Italy from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Luxembourg from midnight to 9.45 p.m. 
• In Liechtenstein and Switzerland throughout the entire day. 
• In Slovenia from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
• In Hungary, from midnight to 10 p.m. (this prohibition does not apply to EURO 3 and higher categories of trucks operating in the international transport sector).
