In the fall of this year, new road bans will come into effect in some European countries due to public holidays. Therefore, in this article, we present a list of countries that plan to introduce additional road restrictions and remind you of the truck ban rules that are already in force in popular European destinations for long-haul drivers.

Liechtenstein

In Liechtenstein, truck bans will be implemented on September 4th, 8th, 11th, 18th and 25th starting from 0:01 up until 10PM. The road bans will target heavy vehicles weighing more than 3.5t.

Slovakia

In Slovakia, road bans will be applied on September 4th, 11th, 15th, 18th and 25th starting from midnight up until 10PM. These road bans will target HGVs weighing more than 7,5t.

Czech Republic

In the Czech Republic, road bans will apply on Sundays from 1PM until 10PM. They will apply to trucks weighing more than 7.5t. Simultaneously, on September 28th there will be an additional truck ban implemented for HGVs weighing more than 7,5t. This ban will be valid from 1PM up until 10PM and will apply on express roads, motorways, and first-class roads.

France

In France, road bans will apply to trucks weighing more than 7.5t. These bans will be in effect on Saturdays from 10PM until midnight and on Sundays throughout the entire day.

Austria

In Austria, road bans will apply to trucks weighing more than 7.5t. These bans will be in effect on Saturdays from 3PM until midnight and on Sundays from midnight until 10PM.

Germany

In Germany, road bans will apply to trucks with trailers that weigh more than 7.5t. The following bans will be in effect every Sunday of the month:

• September 4th, from midnight until 10PM,
• September 11th, from midnight until 10PM,
• September 18th, from midnight until 10PM,
• September 25th, from midnight until 10PM

Italy

in Italy, Sunday road bans for trucks weighing more than 7.5t will remain. The restrictions will apply on all roads outside of urban areas:

• September 4th, from 7PM until 10PM,
• September 11th, from 7PM until 10PM,
• September 18th, from 7PM until 10PM,
• September 25th, from 7PM until 10PM.

Switzerland

In Switzerland, there will also be Sunday bans for trucks weighing more than 3.5t:

• September 4th, throughout the entire day,
• September 11th, throughout the entire day,
• September 18th, throughout the entire day,
• September 25th, throughout the entire day.
